Now that we have your attention with SJP being a boss and ordering this delicious meal. We’re talking about a detox for your brand’s social media pages.

So lets detox your socials…

  1. Identify your target audience

    • You’re creating content for a specific audience and by getting a good understanding of who your target audience is will allow you to create a clear picture of who you will continue to create content for and who you have to let go. This will allow you to make more genuine connections with people who want to learn about your products/services.

  2. Review your following

    • Start with those you’ve least engaged with. If their content is no longer serving you and you’re no longer interacting with their content, then you probably don’t need to continue you following them. Cleaning up your home feed will feel so much better seeing content that speaks to you and inspires you.

  3. Review your followers

    • Go through your followers list and look for spam accounts with weird usernames like @digi283894. Also, look out for accounts that you don’t feel resonate with your brand. These are people that never engage or buy from you.

This might be hard because many people think “The more followers I have, the more successful my page is” but that’s not quite true. Success on your page isn’t measured by the number of followers you have but how much people engage with your content and your business.

  4. Detox Often

    • Detoxing your page can be healthy! Especially during these current times in our world when people using social media is at an all time high. If you see something on your feed that doesn’t resonate well with you, then get rid of it. Do whatever is best for yourself and your social media pages to really connect with the people that will help you and your brand grow.

The idea of a detox on your page is about always being intentional with your online space and consistently optimizing who your content is reaching. Now go on and create amazing content for your real audience and observe what a difference it makes!
