Client Highlight - CTRL + WASTE

I truly enjoyed working on this project, not only because we got to work with so many of my favorite humans in Bali, but also because of the cause we were working for.

CTRL+WASTE is a Bali-wide art initiative and charity exhibition. The project is a charity initiative of Squawk Content and Changeinit, in partnership with Odyssey MVMT Fest, where the largest portion of the proceeds are donated to Ecstatic Ocean Initiative - a Bali based charity that supports rural communities to up-cycle their own waste.

The Objective

CTRL+WASTE selected 9 artists/art teams in Bali to put a unique spin on a ‘coconut’ shaped canvas made from plaster and up-cycled bottle caps (collected from rivers in rural Balinese villages.) Each artist/art team was given 1 coconut canvas. The final piece had to retain the “essence” of the original canvas and it had to be completed within 5 weeks with a ZERO or MINIMAL waste art practice.

The pieces were then auctioned off at Odyssey MVMT Fest and a Zin Cafe.

Successfully, CTRL+WASTE was able to sell all the pieces at the fundraiser and raise 37 million rupiah aka almost $2,500 USD. So incredibly proud of everyone involved and felt beyond lucky to have been apart of this charity auction with such huge impact for the environment.
